A spectacular holiday season... New Year’s Eve was a spectacular event as Maureen & I spent our 10th year with the Smith family from Darien, CT. We rang 2012 in with ample parts of celebration and hope. and great hopes for 2012 This year promises to have even more exciting new programs. We are continuing to expand the number and range of activities in the InView Arts Center . In addition to our art and writing classes we are introducing a range of performances and the opportunity to use the InView Art Center facilities as your own art studio. March 16 thru 18 Spend the weekend tapping sugar maple sap and turn it into your own jar of syrup. Learn the Vermont art of turning sap into gold! Work along with Rob “Sugar Bob” Hausslein as he harvests the sap, boils it down, and bottles it. He will you teach you how to get started makin gsyrup from your own sugar maple tree.. Chef Katie Schneider will even treat your taste buds to some of her special maple syrup inspired dishes, and our Famous J-Bar breakfast special is always a syrup lover’s delight. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see this folk legend up close and personal. Saturday, March 31 Join us for an evening of Improv with the northeast’s hottest improve troupe, “Dumb Kids in the Back”. Get set for an irreverent, no holds barred evening of laughter as the kids from West Orange, New Jersey bring their show on the road. You remember them. They sat in the back of the class and made you laugh till you cried. Now they’re front and center, but they’ll still make you cry laughing! Special weekend packages available. Call The Landgrove Inn for details. Two new InView Center workshops announced May 18 thru 20 The Art of Argentine Tango Dancing has undergone a big revival over the last few years, but there is no more sensuous discipline of the art than Argentine Tango. Spend the weekend immersed in Argentine culture as you learn the techniques of Argentine Tango from Gerd Hirschmann & Judith Schwartz that will have you and your partner gliding across the floor, eyes closed tight, the envy of all onlookers. Executive Chef Katie Schneider will entice you with some Argentine specialties, and we’ll sample some of Argentina’s best wines. If you promised yourself to try one new thing this year, try this! June 11 thru 13 Ted Nuttall returns by popular demand for a 3 day workshop in “Watercolor Portraits”. This portrait master enthralled a packed class last year with his easy approachable teaching style and his ability to bring excitement to his painting. Ted has a unique way of making figures seem less intimidating and challenging than you might have thought. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn the techniques of figure painting from one of its most respected practitioners. There’s plenty to do in and around The Landgrove Inn. But, on those days when you need a break from skiing, hiking, shopping, sightseeing, or snoozing by the fire, you might consider trying something new. May we suggest: |
